About the event

Mid Ulster Pride presents an evening of LGBTQ+ History through two documentaries: The Troubles I've seen produced by the LGBT Heritage Project (in partnership with the Linen Hall Library) and Pride of Place the BBC documentary about the formation of Mid Ulster Pride.

The Troubles I've Seen is a fascinating look at the lives of LGBTQ+ people during the Troubles of Northern Ireland. A series of interviews with people who lived through a traumatic and confusing time, not only for LGBTQ+ people in Northern Ireland, but across the UK.

Pride of Place, directed by Grace Sweeney, documents the formation of Mid Ulster Pride and the trials and tribulations faced by an LGBTQ+ organisation forming in the rural heartland of Mid Ulster.

After each screening, a short panel will be held with our special guests - Producers, Directors, and Collaborators on each of the documentaries. Mid Ulster Pride will be supplying tea and coffee between each screening as a comfort break.
